EXPLORE THE ADVENTURES OF WILLAMETTE VALLEY HONEY FARM

We are a fast paced family with exuberant thirst for knowledge of how the world works. We started following the wonderful world of the bees in 2010 and have been loving the adventure since. It all started when a friend put the bug in our ear (not literally), a few weeks later we took a beekeeping 101 class, then, when April came we purchased 3 hives. We did well for the rest of that season. Of course, we all need some contrast to see what we want in life and when our 1 out of 3 hives survived the winter, not only were we elated to have a hive going into the next season, we were also perplexed with what went wrong? So, the thirst for knowledge took over and we've been following the best path to get the healthiest bees since.

Check out what’s happening at the farm. We have tons of events happening all year. Our current events include Hayride, Farmer's Market, and Strawberry Picking. Some of our events repeat themselves throughout the year, while others are held at specific times of the year. See our upcoming events below and sign up to our newsletter to guarantee you don’t miss out on any of them!

February-September

POLLINATION

Pollinating is the bees most important job. Without pollinators there would be no food to eat, no flowers to smell or trees for fresh air. In February and march the bees pollinate the almonds in California. In April and May or mapril as I like to call it, they pollinate blueberries, meadowfoam and maple trees.
June they travel to the rural areas to collect wild nectar in their honey yards and half will go to a summer crop such as clover and pumpkin blossom. They also collect mint and pennyroyal during this time so its a mixture of July and August. Which I refer to julaugust.
Along with collecting nectar and pollen, the ladies are collecting tree resin and other beneficial items they find. With the resin they make propolis. It's a bee glue, it seals up anything.

QUEEN REARING

Breeding queens allows the future hives greater success because we can graft from the best hygienics we can find. Great genes, best results, healthier future.

PRODUCTS MADE FROM THE BEES

In the bee world those ladies have figured it out. Now, I have the opportunity to share some of the items I've collected from them, with you...Enjoy, it's all made with love, positive vibrations and intention. These products are intended to bring your soul joy, your physical body health and your awareness to intentional living. Live with a purpose to share something amazing with the world... YOU!

Items you might find from me:

Raw honey-from the bee to the jar.

Crystallized honey-raw honey in the solid form. Less mess, more texture, need this key ingredient to make creamed honey.

Creamed honey-crystallized honey that has had the crystals muddled or smoothed, then mixed with liquid honey.

Comb honey- its comb cut from the frame. Would you like extra honey with that? I can make that happen.

Propolis- solid chunks or tincture -bees mix beeswax and resin from the buds of conifer and poplar trees to make propolis which carries many beneficial factors such as a proven antibiotic and antiseptic properties along with antiviral and anti-inflammatory effects.I take a dropper full ever day and I use the chucks on my teeth when they hurt.

candles- wax collected from the bees and handmade into candles with love.
